This was meant to be the beginning of a new story on these lands—a story of redress, reciprocity, and redemption. An ask and an opportunity to contribute to Host Nation–led, Urban Indigenous–facilitated strengthening and care.
We are Salish Circle Centre, an Indigenous non-profit now on hiatus as we reel from the very real impacts of gate-kept resources in a neoliberal city that celebrates “reconciliation” and land “acknowledgements” as branding while withholding redress.
To those who contributed toward our July 2025 operations: thank you. Sadly, we were unable to raise enough for August. If we move forward, our resources must sustain people, not property.
Salish Circle was built with a vision for Indigenous liberation, collective care, and responsibility to Host Nations. That hasn’t changed.
We are recovering, and refusing to be complicit in the fake reconciliation industry.
The story isn’t over.
